ORACLE TEAM USA skipper Jimmy Spithill tells AC Uncut that two months after a spectacular capsize in their AC72, the team is looking forward to sailing 'early in the new year'.
"The boat builders have been doing a fantastic job - they've really been digging in with a lot of hard work," Spithill said. "But we're starting to see the rewards of that. The boat is back in one piece. It's good to see it back together."
Spithill says the new wing is nearly finished and will be delivered and assembled early in the new year, allowing the team to start sailing again.
"It's been a good exercise to see how the team reacts to a challenge like this, and we're really excited to get back on the water."
He says boat two is on track and the team is looking forward to getting two boats on the water next year for training and testing purposes.
"I think everyone is excited about the racing coming up and what it will look like."
