On Saturday ORACLE TEAM USA skipper Jimmy Spithill capsized in Fleet Race 5 only to bounce back later that day to win the AC World Series San Francisco Match Race title.
On Super Sunday's Feet Race 7, Spithill took out the Fleet Racing Championship, 'doing the double' for a second time.
Then, on Tuesday, Spithill headed to southern California and the US Marine Corps Air Station at Miramar where he flew like an angel.
Spithill had the honor of flying with the US Navy's Flight Demonstration Squadron, the 'Blue Angels'.
From a full-reheat take-off from which pilot Lt Mark Tedrow took the F-18 into a 500ft/sec vertical climb to a steep/hard simulated aircraft carrier landing, Spithill had the ultimate 'Guest Racer' experience from the back seat for the fighter jet.
Did Jimmy hold it all together in the 45 minute flight which pulled 7 Gs as well as negative G radical maneuvers on the edge of the flight envelope?
ORACLE TEAM USA photographer Guilain Grenier and ACTV's George Johns & Javi Salinas captured the story.
