Morning Briefing

1230 - A great ceremony at the China Team base this morning, with the blessing of the boat. A nice punctuation mark for a team earning it's first World Series win yesterday.

- The Port Cities Challenge Trophy will go to the winning team at the end of today's racing. Representatives from five of the Port Cities will be on board for today's first race.

- At the competitors briefing this morning, Principal Race Officer John Craig told the teams the program for the day. As previously scheduled - one, longer 40-minute fleet race, followed by two 18-minute races. IF there is time at the end of the day, he will run a third 18-minute race to make up for yesterday.

The weather forecast is for light winds at race time - The storm that drenched San Diego is now almost stationary just WSW of Ensenada. Around noon, the light easterly morning winds fade allowing the the NW wind to curve into the race course as westerly wind.

By race time, we can expect light Westerly winds of 3 to 8 knots, trending slightly to the north as the afternoon progresses.
