About China Team
China Team is a true Chinese challenger as it will be powered by mainly Chinese sailors on a China-built boat. This is the second challenge for China, led again by chairman Wang Chaoyong. Thierry Barot, CEO of China Team and a 25 year America’s Cup veteran, is leading a team of Chinese and Olympic/World Champion international multihull sailors.
China Team represents the spirit of sports in China today, as sailing, while still relatively new in China, under the guidance of Professional Olympics Coach, Skipper and Helmsman, the young Chinese sailors will train and carry the hopes of the Chinese nation. Five years after China entered the America’s Cup race for the first time, China is back in the competition with China Team.
