"Gillo" won the America’s Cup in 2010 in his third attempt. As important as he was as a crew member, he also played a critical role in writing some of the on board software.
Twice a member of the Italy’s Luna Rossa Challenge (2003, ’07), he was involved with the performance team and wrote on board weather software.
Gilberto is a passionate canoeist and teaches river canoeing. His sailing career began as a crewman in the Star Class and he became champion of Italy’s Bracciano Lake district. In 2005, he won the Middle Sea Race with Atalanta II.
Other racing includes the 2006 TP52 Med Cup circuit on Orlanda and the 2001-’04 Maxi circuit on My Song.
