Full day of racing on the schedule for Saturday at the Valencia Louis Vuitton Act 2

Principal Race Officer Peter Reggio and his team have set an ambitious schedule of racing for Saturday with three full Flights of matches due to be sailed. This will allow the completion of Round Robin 1 of the Valencia Louis Vuitton Act, along with the first Flight of Round Robin 2.

To complete three Flights of racing, Reggio has advanced the scheduled start time of the first race to 11:40, with the first warning gun due to fire at 11:30. The full racing schedule on the first weekend of America’s Cup competition in Valencia is a wonderful opportunity for the local community to come down to the America’s Cup Park and get a sense of what the 32nd America’s Cup is all about.

For those further afield, live English and Spanish audio commentary of the racing is available on the official website, www.americascup.com.

There are several interesting matches due to be sailed on Saturday, including the pairing of the top two teams from the Marseille Louis Vuitton Act 1, Team Alinghi and BMW ORACLE Racing. The two Italian teams, +39 and Luna Rossa, both making their debut at the 32nd America’s Cup here in Valencia are also due to race on Saturday setting up an Italian derby.

Reggio anticipates running a similar programme on Sunday, to get ahead on the schedule in case of poor, early-Autumn weather later in the week. The new, short race course, format allows for this type of fliexibility.
