Ford is proud to continue its association with the America’s Cup by becoming a Supporter and the Official Car of the 32nd America’s Cup. Ford was already part of the America’s Cup in the United States as technological partner of several teams. In this 32nd edition, Ford has an even stronger presence by supporting the event organisers.

From the very beginning, Ford was very active in supporting Valencia in its quest to become host city of the most prestigious sailing competition in the world. It seemed logical, given the close relationship between the Valencia Community and the company, which dates back more than 30 years when Ford decided to build its factory here. Currently, the factory of Almussafes is one of the key manufacturing sites of Ford of Europe, and a world reference in flexible manufacturing as it is capable of building four different models simultaneously on the same Chassis line. The plant directly employs 7 400 people whilst also generating another 40 000 indirect jobs.

For Ford, this world sports event is the perfect platform to present the entire new Ford product range to the public. This launch strategy shall end with the presentation, during the 2007 finals, of the new Ford Mondeo, the first product of the new "Kinetic Design" concept.
