Get Hooked on Sustainable Seafood
Are you up to the challenge?
Are you a restaurant that wants to partner with the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project this summer?
The America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project is working with the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Aquarium of the Bay, the Golden Gate Restaurant Association and the Bay area restaurant community to promote sustainable seafood choices.
Why does it matter?
Many things affect the health of the ocean, but few have as great an impact as fishing. Over the past five decades technology has allowed us to fish farther, deeper and more efficiently than ever before. Fish populations can’t keep up with our demands for fish tacos and sushi!
Abundant fish = healthy ocean. The oceans supply us with food and oxygen, help regulate our climate, and supply a livelihood for millions of people.
The Commitment to our Program:
- Applying Restaurants will be selected as either a Partner Restaurant or a Participating Restaurant on the basis of their commitment to sustainable seafood choices – the more sustainable seafood served, the better!
- Applying Restaurants agree to highlight sustainable seafood choices from Seafood Watch’s Best Choices list on menus, and promote partnership with America’s Cup on restaurant’s website from July 4 – September 21. We provide the resources!
- Partner and Participating Restaurants will benefit from the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project Campaign promotion via social media, on site at our event venue, website, partners, stakeholders, special programming, and media outlets. Partner and Participating Restaurants will receive a toolkit with program logo and brand guidelines.
Full list of current participating restaurants coming soon.
