The waterfront was the place to be in San Francisco this summer. Specifically, the America’s Cup Park at Piers 27/29 and the America’s Cup Village at Marina Green.
That’s where all the action was as the America’s Cup built to a stunning September showdown between Emirates Team New Zealand and ORACLE TEAM USA. The American team eventually defended the Cup, by a 9 to 8 score, completing an incredible comeback. ORACLE TEAM USA was trailing 8-1.
One million people were counted through the gates at the America’s Cup Park and AC Village and that many again watched the action from other, unofficial, waterfront sites.
