The off-shore Volunteers enjoyed a “family day” at the Regatta Operations base on Sunday, June 3rd. The Organization planned this “Open door” day so the Off-shore Volunteer’s family members could come and see where they meet and work when their off the water.
At noon the Volunteers and their families arrived to the RO tent where they where they had brunch followed by the morning briefing where the Off-shore Volunteers are given their instructions for the day’s races. After they helped getting the boats out, families joined two Welcome Center Assistants who filled them in on the activities they could do here in Port America’s Cup until the return of their husband, wife, or father at the end of the regattas.
At the end of the day more than 160 Volunteers and their families enjoyed a great barbecue with the Regatta Operations staff, Race Officials, and the cat crew.
A nice day and a great atmosphere! The Off-shore Volunteers got a chance to share the spirit of the 32nd America’s Cup with their families.
