From July through September 2013, San Francisco will host the Summer of Racing that culminates with the America’s Cup Finals, where the top challenger will battle the defending team, ORACLE TEAM USA, for the oldest and most prestigious trophy in international sport, the America’s Cup.
The America’s Cup Super Yacht Program unites the pinnacle of competitive sailing with the height of luxury yachting, and will provide super yacht owners, guests and charterers with an unprecedented America’s Cup experience.
Exclusive packages include priority berthing in the America’s Cup Super Yacht Village, flagged spectator locations along the racecourse with an onboard live race feed, access to the America’s Cup VIP hospitality venues, VIP functions, seminars and special events as well as BWA Yachting’s unparalleled level of 24 hour agency and concierge services.
The America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta has become a staple companion event of the America’s Cup since the first one in New Zealand in 2000. This year, the America’s Cup will host a fleet of some 15 superyachts ranging in size from 85 feet to 300 feet. Many will be berthed along the eastern seawall of the America’s Cup Park, at Piers 27/29.
The Superyacht Regatta is scheduled September 9, 11 and 13, during the off-days of the America’s Cup Finals, with one race per day. The race committee hopes to set courses on San Francisco Bay, but the deep draft of some of the yachts may require a course that stretches out the Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge.
