On December 2, 2014 Bermuda was announced as the Home of the 35th America’s Cup. Bermuda was uniquely suited to host the regatta with its Great Sound, a magnificent natural amphitheater set amid a spectacular backdrop of islands and beaches and the perfect venue for the stadium style racing of the modern America’s Cup. As of April 2017 all six America’s Cup teams have based their full time operations in Bermuda, some arriving as early as early 2015 to train on the waters where the 35th America’s Cup will be decided.
Not sure exactly where Bermuda is? Take a look:
The official America's Cup race course will be on the Great Sound, meaning the racing will be visible from on-water spectator boats as well as the America's Cup Village. The exact racecourse is not determined until the day of racing based on wind direction and strength. The length and orientation of the racecourse may vary, but the finish line will always be in front of the America’s Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard, offering spectators a prime viewing experience. The 2017 Red Bull Youth America's Cup will also take place on the Great Sound, the America's Cup J Class Regatta will take place at Murray's Anchorage on the eastern end of the island, and the Superyacht Regatta will be hosted on the South Shore.
