Sir Russell Coutts' Vlog: The America's Cup is almost upon us

With the America’s Cup Village all but finished and the final week of practice racing now over, the anticipation for the 35th America’s Cup is well and truly building!

Looking back on a week of highs, lows, variable weather and a dramatic crash on Bermuda’s Great Sound, America’s Cup Event Authority (ACEA) CEO Sir Russell Coutts believes that despite impressive displays from some of the teams in particular, there is still a lot to be learnt before the highly anticipated competition beginning for real on Friday 26th May.

Then, casting his eye over the America’s Cup Village itself, Russell reflects on the monumental effort it has taken to transform the nine acre reclamation site, also known as Cross Island, to now stand on the verge of opening as the incredible home for the 35th America’s Cup and welcoming thousands of fans in to help celebrate Bermuda’ starring role in staging the greatest race on water.
