Up to 10 additional teams will be selected by Red Bull Youth America’s Cup Sport Directors, Roman Hagara and Hans-Peter Steinacher. The competition will be fierce: over 20 top youth sailing teams have applied for an entry and selection is underway.

Selected youth teams will race in a Qualifying Series to determine the top eight who will face off in two days of fleet racing scheduled during the week between the America’s Cup Finals week-ends.

2017 DATES:
Qualifiers: 12 June - 16 June
Finals: 20 June - 21 June

The race course for the RBYAC will be the official America’s Cup race course in the Great Sound. The RBYAC sailing base will be located in the heart the America’s Cup Village, next to the America’s Cup team bases.

Up to 16 teams, with sailors aged between 19-24 years and shall be nationals of the country that their Youth Team represents.

A fleet of 8x AC45’s will be made available by ACEA, including a communal shore team whose mission is to help RBYAC youth teams get familiar with America’s Cup boat technology, handling and maintenance.
