THE 37TH AMERICA'S CUP ANNOUNCES VOLUNTEER PROGRAM DEADLINE
The America's Cup announces that December 15 is the deadline for registration in the volunteer program for its 37th edition, set to take place in Barcelona starting from August 2024. The goal is to form a team, Team B, with a variety of profiles in line with one of the world's most-watched events.
The countdown has begun, and those interested in being part of a sporting event featuring the world's best sailors will have two more months to sign up through this link and be part of a historic moment for the city of Barcelona and the sports world.
The 37th America's Cup volunteer program will consist of approximately 2,300 people. Although this number has already been exceeded, the organization is urging the public to create the broadest and most passionate team in the event's history and to build a diverse and inclusive community that goes beyond the selected candidates.
ACE Barcelona continues is open to receive new registrations and people profiles, whether experienced in volunteering or eager to discover it for the first time. They are looking for individuals committed to sustainability, with knowledge and pride in their city, and a desire to contribute to the history of Barcelona and the America's Cup. All age groups and demographics will be considered, and volunteers from the more local maritime sector and residents of the neighbourhoods closest to the sea are particularly encouraged to participate.
The event, to be held entirely in Barcelona, will last almost 70 days, starting on August 22 and concluding end of October, 2024. This edition also brings significant innovations, such as the Puig Women's America's Cup, the first all-female competition in America's Cup history. Additionally, the Youth America's Cup for athletes aged 18 to 25 will be contested again.
