KNOW THE RULES
Every sport has its own set of rules. In sailing, they're built to clarify who has "right-of-way" in different scenarios, and they are used strategically in a Match Race to help gain the upper hand. Break a rule, and your opponent will protest. If the umpires agree, you'll be given a penalty. Let’s see a few of the basics to help you keep up when the penalty calls start flying!
HOW TO WATCH
-
FROM LAND
The main activation is in the AC Race Village along Moll de la Fusta, which will contain a main stage and four giant screens but doesn’t have a direct view of the water. The Fanzones in Plaça del Mar and Port Olimpic are opposite the race area and have giant screens for close-up action. Plaça Rosa dels vents and the beaches of St. Miguel, Barceloneta and Somorrostro are also good options, but you need your mobile to watch the live show.
-
ON WATER
Go out on your own boat, charter one, or buy an on-water ticket with our Preferred Charter Partners. Areas around the race course will be dedicated to yachts and small crafts. If you plan to get on the water amongst the action, then you MUST visit our on-water information page and REGISTER YOUR BOAT. Superyacht should contact BWA to be coordinated into the America’s Cup Superyacht Official Programme.

TRANSPORT OPTIONS
Barcelona and the metropolitan area have a sustainable public transport network, making getting around easy. To meet 37th America’s Cup sustainability targets we encourage all visitors not to travel by personal car. Park your vehicle in one of the car parks away from downtown, then walk or catch the metro and enjoy the views and activities walking by foot, hiring a bicycle or a scooter. Taxis are also a good option to make life easier and smoother for all.
